英语中常见的比较结构-比较句式-比较组合

英语中的比较结构还是很多的，常见的有：1.“as+形容词原级十as”表示“与……一样”;“not as/so+形容词原级+as”表示“与……不一样”;2.“the+形容词比较级+the+形容词比较级”表示“越…….越……”等等。

1.“as+形容词原级十as”表示“与……一样”;“not as/so+形容词原级+as”表示“与……不一样”。例如：

I was about to go back to sleep when suddenly my bedroom became as bright as day.

我刚要再睡，突然我的卧室亮如白昼，Icould feel he was as miserable as l was.我可以感受到他像我一样难受。

We are as close and friendly as we used to be.我们仍像过去那样亲密与友好。

许多英语成语或谚语中有一些固定表达法。例如：

as white as snow像雪一样洁白;as busy as a bee像蜜蜂一样忙碌;as cunning as a fox像狐狸一样狡猾;as proud as a peacock像孔雀一样骄傲;as strong as a horse像马一样强壮。

2.“the+形容词比较级+the+形容词比较级”表示“越…….越……”。例如：

The more learned a man is，the ore modest he usually is.一个人越有学问，通常会越谦虚。

The healthier your body is，the brighter your mind will be.你的身体越健康，你的头脑就越聪明。

3.“more and more”表示“越来越……”，例如：

They also belicve it is the burning of more and more fossil fucls that is resulting in this increase in carbon dioxide.他们还认为，正是由于越来越多地燃烧化石燃料导致了二氧化碳的增加。

4.“more...than”表示“与其说……不如说……”。例如：

Actually，it was based more on German than present day English.事实上，当时的英语更多的是以德语为基础，而现代英语不是。

It is more a financial problem than a mental one.与其说它是心理问题，不如说是经济问题。

5.“no more than"表示“只有”或“仅仅”，强调否定的方面，相当于only。例如：

No more than five people took part in the English speech contest.只有五个人参加了

6.“no+比较级+than”和“not+比较级+than”所表示的意思不相同。

前者表示“和……一样不……”(即两者都不…);后者表示“不比……更…”(仅否定前者，即表示前者不如后者)。例如：

His English is no better than mine.他和我的英语都不好。

His English is not beter than mine.他的英语不如我的英语好。(仅否定他的英语)
