The most expensive and comfortable way to travel around the globe is by jet obviously. However, since the invention of air flight, the debate over air flight never stops. The focus is that it is good for the global communication but it is bad for the global environment. Personally, both sides of the issue should be taken into consideration as follows.
When it comes to the benefits of air traveling, two sections should be mentioned.For one thing, nothing can compare with the jet which takes people to anywhere they want without any regional limit but only with courage and imagination. Namely, the air flight enables people to enlarge their horizons. For another, modern transportation helps the world become smaller and more effective.Thanks to air travel, the global communication and understanding improves day by day. In the morning, you stay in China, but at night you may drink coffee beside the Seine.
However, the drawbacks it has should also be focused. Firstly, it costs a huge amount of fuel like oil for a single flight.Taking automobiles for example, an air flight uses about 1,500 times as much fuel as a private car for the same distance. Secondly, using too much energy results in discharging too much pollution naturally. Besides, air pollution that we havelearnt for ages, soil, water and noise pollution are also caused during the flying. Lastly, this most advanced transportation exists with high risk and danger. Everytime when an air crash happens, there are rare survivors.
In conclusion, air travel is a must for international business and cultural exchanges. To use it soundly, we should try our best to reduce pollution and the use of fuel, and most importantly, keep it taking off and landing safely.
